The Abra Project is a high return base and precious metals project located in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The Project is nearing execution, with all major permits and native title arrangements in place. When complete, the Operation will have a 16-year mine life producing a high-value, high-grade lead-silver concentrate containing approximately 95kt of lead and 805koz of silver per year after ramp-up.
We are building our Owners Team to deliver the Abra Project and are seeking a Project Geologist for a site-based role. The successful candidate will supervise and manage our exploration programs, and be responsible for managing the geological data. A key responsibility of the role is the evaluation and interpretation of geological data, and production of technical models and reports, which will shape the future mining areas for our company.
This role works closely with other senior Geology roles in areas including Tenement Management, Budgeting, Contractor Selection and Process improvement. The incumbent will be required to liaise with key stakeholders to ensure exploration program compliance, accordingly well-developed oral and written English skills are essential.
As the team grows and we transition into Operations, the Project Geologist will assist the mine geology team with geological logging, underground mapping and sampling, and geological interpretation of the Abra Deposit.
We are seeking a Geologist with at least four (4) years experience in similar roles, who also has strategic planning experience and has been able to deliver against the plan. This role will have supervisory responsibility, making demonstrated leadership experience and capability an important criterion for selection. The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, whilst identifying the necessary steps required to enable completion will assist in the incumbents success.
Experience developing base metal exploration targets within sedimentary basins will be highly regarded, as will experience in managing underground drilling programs and mine production. Intermediate to advanced computer skills and experience using Leapfrog Geo and ArcGis software are core selection criterion.
This role will be offered on a FIFO roster of 8/6 with a competitive remuneration package, however the incumbent will be required to spend some time in our Corporate office in Subiaco.
