SBC, a leading provider of OH&S, insurance, risk management and case management systems in Australia, is currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Brisbane office.  We have offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Auckland and Adelaide and clients throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Finance Manager and other members of the Management Team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing of both accounts payable and receivable information.
  • Creating purchase orders.
  • Preparation of general and expense accounts reconciliations.
  • Manage supplier relationships and be able to deal with any associated issue/problems.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial data processed.
  • General office and administrative tasks.
  • Support the smooth operation of our office with your pro-active problem solving skills.
  • Other ad-hoc administration tasks as required.

The successful candidate must have a proven ability to pay keen attention to detail and to adopt a pro-active approach to their tasks and to time management.

The key selection criteria for the position are as follows:

  • Relevant experience (minimum 2 years) in a similar role within Australia.
  • Experience with different accounting software packages with computerised accounting or equivalent software, highly desirable
  • Proven accounts skills.
  • Excellent organisation and customer service skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Ability to handle supplier enquiries/issues in a professional manner, including written correspondence.
  • Ability to track and manage tasks that occur regularly and manage your time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written skills.
  • A can do attitude and the ability to problem solve issues with integrity, accountability and transparency.
  • Must be an Australian citizen.
