An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administration Officer to join the Wurundjeri Woi wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, at our Abbotsford Convent offices.
The Wurundjeri Corporation is a Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) appointed under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006. The Corporation holds statutory responsibilities for the protection and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage objects and places in Victoria. Additional functions of the Corporation include environmental land management, cross-cultural education, traditional welcome to country and smoking ceremonies, and cultural consultations.
The key role of the RAP Administration Officer position is the general administration management of all Cultural Heritage Management Plan and Cultural Heritage Permit projects that go through the Wurundjeri Corporation Cultural Heritage Unit. This includes but is not limited to
responding to Notice of Intents and completing in-office admin processes relating to new projects (creating digital and physical files, updating spreadsheets, responding to stakeholders)
receiving CHMPs for evaluation and completing in-office processes relating to evaluations (requesting invoices, organising digital files, updating spreadsheets, corresponding with stakeholders)
creating and sending evaluation letters of approved projects and completing in-office processes relating to approvals (updating spreadsheets, updating digital and physical files, corresponding with stakeholders)
General management and filing of all CHMP and CHP projects ensuring no deadlines are missed in the various stages of the CHMP process
Arranging meeting bookings
Monthly update of the Board of Directors report relating to CHMP projects
Other admin relating to Cultural Heritage projects
This role would suit someone who has an interest in Indigenous cultural heritage, and a strong background in office administration and bookings.
The key requirements of the role are:
1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Microsoft Excel).
2. A strong attention to detail;
3. The ability to multi task and deal with competing priorities;
4. Must have good interpersonal skills and a resilient personality.
