Stores & Yard Manager

The Company

Based in OConnor, our client manufactures specialised water management plant and equipment, that includes reverse osmosis units and waste water treatment plants, predominately used in the mining industry in remote locations both in Australia and overseas.

 

Working Hours & Days

The standard working hours for this role are;

  • Monday to Friday (Occasional Saturday)
  • 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM (May vary depending on client needs)

Please Note: Candidates must have their own reliable transport in order to get to and from work

 

The Role

The Stores & Yard Manager is a hands on role which provides a lot of variety across numerous tasks and responsibilities. Predominantly working autonomously without supervision, the Stores & Yard Manager will be responsible for the following;

  • Stores: Ensuring the small stores room is kept in good order, with all spare parts, materials and consumables in the correct area or shelving
  • Yard: Ensuring the Yard is kept tidy, where there is room for deliveries or laydown of equipment returning or going to site
  • Goods Receivable: Unloading trucks mainly of palletized parts, materials or consumables and checking con notes / delivery dockets match delivered items
  • Dispatch: Packing & loading containers & pallets for site deployment which may include tools, parts & consumables
  • Stores Software System: Updating the in-house stores software of delivered items as well as processing POs for items to be delivered
  • Logistics: Liaising with freight suppliers for deliveries or pick up of small to large items
  • Fork Lift: Regularly operating a forklift to unload & load deliveries as well as move items around the yard or workshop
  • Parts & Material Pick Ups: Using the workshop Ute to pick up parts or materials in the metro area for the workshop team

 

The Candidate

The Stores & Yard Manager covers numerous responsibilities where our client is seeking an experienced candidate that has worked in a similar role in both Stores & Yard work.  High on our list are candidates that are able to work autonomously without supervision, where they possess very good time management and planning skills in order to complete their responsibilities to our clients requirements.

Essential Criteria includes;

  • Possess a valid High-Risk (LF) fork lift ticket
  • Possess a valid manual C Class WA drivers license
  • Highly experienced in operating counter balance Fork Lifts
  • Has at least 3 years Stores experience in both receivables & dispatch
  • Is able to work unsupervised & carry out job responsibilities without issue
  • Is experienced in navigating stores software as well as using Microsoft Excel, Outlook & Word
  • Be highly organised and able to prioritize and manage numerous tasks at the same time
  • Be Physically Fit and able to regularly carry out physically demanding tasks 
  • Has a strong work ethic with good time keeping & attendance

 

Employment Type & Remuneration

Initially a temporary work assignment, where you will be working through Staff-Net on a casual basis for up to 3+ months, where if the successful candidate performs their responsibilities to our clients satisfaction, a permanent role maybe be offered.

Depending on experience the pay rate will be;

  • $28.00 to $32.00 per hour (flat)
  • + Super
  • Paid Weekly
  • Please Note: If the successful candidate progresses to a permanent role our client will be able to offer similar hourly rates as casual on a permanent basis
