The Company

Galaxy Resources Limited is an ASX listed lithium-focused resources company, with assets spanning Australia, Canada and Argentina. The Company owns the Mt Cattlin Spodumene Mine near Ravensthorpe in Western Australia.

Galaxy is advancing plans to develop the Sal de Vida lithium and potash brine project in Argentina situated in the lithium triangle (where Chile, Argentina and Bolivia meet), which is currently the source of 60% of global lithium production. Sal de Vida has excellent potential as a low-cost brine-based lithium carbonate production facility. The Mt Cattlin mine is an open pit mine providing ore feed to the processing plant.

The role

The company has a residential (or FIFO ex Perth) position for an Emergency Response Coordinator to join the Safety team at the Mt Cattlin operations. Mt Cattlin provides a pleasant work location near the south coast of WA with the nearby towns of Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun that offer an inviting combination of rural and coastal lifestyle.

This role requires your absolute commitment to working safely, complying with all site HSE standards in ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace. This pivotal role offers a great opportunity to play an influential role in the development and maturity of the Mt Cattlin ERT and driving its success. 

Reporting to the Safety Department, Mt Cattlin, your responsibilities as the Emergency Services Coordinator will include,

  • Ensuring the development, training, and management of the Emergency Response Team on site with the ability to influence and drive commitment.
  • Effective development and implementation of the site Emergency Response Plan
  • Maintain all emergency response equipment to high standard of readiness and keep up to date records
  • Develop and implement drills and evacuations to ensure the site always has a high standard of emergency preparedness
  • Ensure continuous improvement in line with Organisational expectations


To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Certificate III in Mines rescue
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment
  • Valid HR manual drivers licence
  • Certificate IV Health and Safety (desirable)
  • Certificate IV Pre Hospital Care (desirable)
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels
