About the Role:

This is a permanent full-time role where you will be working remotely on the road (this includes overnight travel and other travel requirements). Car, phone, a laptop will be provided. The right candidate for this role will be looking after the Western Region of Victoria. You will be joining our national sales team and will receive ongoing training to ensure you become a trusted expert on our products and the flooring industry. As a professional, you must be able to use initiative, close a sale, and make sure the KPI targets are worked towards and met. This is a fluid ever-changing workplace where no two days are the same.

The key responsibilities are:

  • Service existing accounts, obtain orders and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing, or potential flooring retailers.
  • Establish, develop, and maintains positive customer relationships.
  • Manage and follow up customers claims.
  • Reach out to new customers or leads through cold calling.
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
  • Manage and/or set up sample stands, display floors, sample offcuts/folders with customers and/or architects, builders, interior designers, etc.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and result reports; such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analysis.
  • Recommend developments in products, services, and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Expedite the resolution to customer complaints to maximize satisfaction - by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, making recommendations to management.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments.
  • Continuously improve through feedback.


Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the flooring industry.
  • Strong sales experience with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets KPIs are your best friend.
  • Passionate about superior customer service.
  • Exceptional communication skills to maintain rapport with customers from start to finish.
  • Impeccable personal presentation and appearance coupled with a professional appearance and manner.
  • The ability to work effectively and service all provided appointments in a timely manner.

  • Can-Do attitude with the ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Have good computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) to manage both ordering software and client databases.

  • Must be able to perform at your peak under pressure and be able to make quick and correct decisions when needed.
