About the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI):

The Position:

The primary focus of the position is to support the Director Work Health Safety (WHS) and Health Policy Work Health & Safety (WHS) and Workers Compensation in activities relating to WHS, workers compensation and health policy in Australia, its development and advocacy, and support to members. The team, headed by the Director WHS & WC Policy, makes a significant contribution to the leadership and influence of ACCI in this field and to building a positive profile for the contribution of employers to work health and safety, WC, health and disaster response.

Key Stakeholders:

The position involves frequent stakeholder engagement and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Frequent stakeholder engagement and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the organisation and operation of the Work Health Safety & Workers Compensation (WHS&WC) Committee, associated Reference Groups and the ACCI Health Forum.
  • Assist with ACCI Member Communications and engagement.
  • Research and preparation of draft briefings.
  • Prepare and review Committee member induction and information packs.
  • Assist with managing ACCI representation on external bodies.

General Responsibilities:

  • Other general work as directed by the Director WHS & WC Policy.
  • Work cooperatively with other ACCI staff.
  • Provide other support as directed by the CEO of ACCI.

Selection Criteria:

  • General Research capabilities: Ability to search for, find and collate information that is relevant to WHS, Health and related policy areas.
  • Written Communication: Ability to prepare a variety of written material, including emails, cover letters, agenda and meeting minutes and general reports.
  • Teamwork: Capacity to work cooperatively in a small team, including working on own initiative.
  • Time management: Ability to manage conflicting priorities within a dynamic environment, and to work under time pressure.
  • Tertiary qualifications: in a relevant discipline (this may include arts, sciences, law, commerce). One to two years' experience in a relevant workplace setting is desirable.
