The Role
We are seeking a suitably qualified H&S professional to assist at our Eastern Creek Facility. You will have an operational background with a hands on, boots on the ground attitude to proving contemporary H&S support to frontline staff.

Departmental/Operational key responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Safety, Health and Environment principles by assisting to integrate Safety into everyday operations.
  • Assist with and drive the development and implementation of HSEQ Plan objectives and targets in consultation with account Management
  • Establish and document Consultation practices in line with legislative requirements and which allow for effective input from workers.
  • Participate in processes which deliver quality and effectiveness of Investigations, Actions, Review and Closure of Incidents, Hazards, Risk Assessments, & Non-Conformances
  • Monitor appropriate recording and reporting when Recordable & Notifiable Events occur
  • Participate in internal & external audit administration tasks and assist with timely completion of audit actions/recommendations and outcomes
  • Primary point of contact for Management Team, Supervisors and workers on WHS Act and Regulations, Standards, and Codes of Practice

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated capacity to build integrity and trust in a team and with customers
  • Experience in the delivery of presentations to various work groups.
  • Ability to self-manage, work cooperatively and collaboratively with others and have a flexible approach to function effectively under pressure
  • Encourages Managers to invest in cultural change that reduces workplace injury and supports the treatment & return-to-work of injured employees.
  • Strong ability to lead and influence management on safety related issues
  • Balances legislative and business needs in safety.
  • Considers both the short and long term repercussions of all risk assessments and how they will impact upon workers before committing to a recommendation.
  • Explores alternatives, understands broad implications and makes recommendations which are practical and results oriented.
  • Knows industry trends and best practice for Safety.
  • Proactively applies best practice initiativesFormal Qualifications in OHS
  • Strong knowledge of theories and drivers contributing to injury in the service industry
  • Strong knowledge of WHS Act, Regulations and CodesSound knowledge of implementation of HSEQ processes in operations
