An exciting opportunity exists for a fixed term Carpenter to join our Engineering and Infrastructure Directorate in Moranbah. Working with our Trades team made up of carpenters, painters, plumbers and apprentices, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance of Council properties across Isaac Regional Council. The position works with the assistance of a carpenter apprentice, whom you will mentor and develop through to successful completion of their trade certificate.
  
Travel around the region is a perk of the role, as our Council assets span across St Lawrence, Nebo, Dysart, Middlemount, Clermont, Glenden and Moranbah.  Overnight accommodation and allowances will be provided as required.
  
The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in a Local Government environment;
• Relevant carpentry trade qualifications;
• Australian C Class Open driver’s licence;
• Construction Blue/White card; and
• Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

  
For this position we offer:

• Attractive salary package inclusive of over-award payment + allowances, including
  • o construction workers allowance
  • o locality allowance
  • o tool allowance and more!
• Nominally 76 hours per fortnight;
• 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
• 12% super in accordance with Council policy
• Nine-day fortnight (RDO’s) in accordance with Council policy
