ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

Newstate Media, Publisher of the Canberra Weekly and Newcastle Weekly is seeking an experienced bookkeeper and administrator to fill this key role in the business.  Reporting directly to the Publisher, the Administration Managers position is an interesting blend of bookkeeping, administrative duties, reception duties and some minor housekeeping.

The ideal applicant will have a minimum 5 years of relevant experience and have a professional understanding of all administrative processes.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Daily processing of payments, reception duties, phone calls, email inbox
  • Weekly invoicing, debtor management and bill payments
  • Fortnightly payroll, super and management of HR records
  • Monthly BAS/IAS lodgement
  • Monthly account reconciliations
  • Maintain office supplies.

Selection Criteria

  1. At least five years experience in a similar role is essential
  2. Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or equivalent is an advantage
  3. Experience with MYOB or similar accounting software package
  4. Excellent computer skills intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  5. Experience in BAS and PAYG preparation and lodgement
  6. Experience managing debtors & creditors
  7. Experience processing payroll
  8. Excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic 
  9. Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail
  10. Excellent personal presentation and friendly phone manner 

Salary is negotiable dependent upon experience.
