RTRFM is an independent community-owned media company presenting a diverse range of music and talks programs with a heavy emphasis on supporting Western Australian cultural creativity. The company has a strong focus on local arts and music, and offers an alternative to mainstream media organisations. We have 50 different programs focusing on different issues and music styles. With its heritage stemming from Perths first FM radio station, 6UWA, RTRFM has been a crucial part of Australias media landscape for more than 40 years.
In short, RTRFM exists to amplify the stories of Western Australians, within our own communities and to the world at large. We're now looking for a Content Producer to help us expand on those stories, and reach a wider audience, through the production of podcasts, videos and more.
The successful applicant will be responsible for identifying talent and content opportunities within the RTRFM communityexpanding beyond the 24/7 broadcast scheduleand following through on the execution of these ideas, fleshing out potential sponsorship packages and helping embrace future digital channels.
This is a part-time position (30 hours or 4 days a week), and a 6-month contract, with a view to extend depending on performance in the role.

Develop content for RTRFM by identifying gaps in coverage and opportunities.
Take direction from the General Manager and Breakfast Producer, Talks ProducerMusic Director on editorial execution.
Recruit, train and produce talent for additional outlets, e.g. video/podcast.
Pitch podcasts ranging from short-run series to ongoing series, with a focus on local issues, station and musical history, and other related topics.
Identify suitable volunteers/contractors and facilities to aid execution.
Assist in content production (includes video/audio editing; publishing to site).
Support execution of sponsored campaigns with bespoke content elements.
Work with internal/external stakeholders to develop clear and effective briefs.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Establish/monitor procedures for record keeping (may include business tools); ensure filing systems are maintained and current.
Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of data.
Participate in administrative tasks shared by all RTRFM staff (answering phones, welcoming guests, processing at POS).
You must be open-minded and have a passion for storytelling, as well as interests in a range of areas, but especially the local and the alternative.
A folio of previously published works.
A finger on the pulse of current affairs, youth issues and pop culture.
Ability to communicate constructive feedback and edit accordingly.
Experience with video/audio production and a willingness to appear in-front of the camera/on record if required.
Robust understanding of and experience with publishing via social media channels.
Proven track record in consistently delivering work of the highest quality in a timely manner.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team and independently.
Extensive knowledge of community radio, and in particular RTRFM.
Experience working in a volunteer or community organisation, managing a team or related activities.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Suite.
Tertiary qualification in or professional experience in communications, journalism, film and/or audio production, marketing or related discipline desirable.
