TRUCK MECHANIC

Welldrill is a specialist water well drilling company.  We are seeking an experienced Truck Mechanic who has the skills listed below.

The role of Truck Mechanic involves the maintenance and repair of:

• Trucks (late model M.A.N., Mercedes, Volvo, Hino and Isuzu)
• Trailers.

We are offering a Full-Time permanent position with flexible working arrangements, generous remuneration and excellent professional development opportunities for the right candidate. The job is primarily based in Henderson, where there is a fully equipped workshop with overhead crane, pit, welding and machine shop, stores and wash pad.  The role requires travel to site, either to remote exploration sites, mine sites throughout WA or local sites to perform routine maintenance and servicing or breakdown repairs.

Ideally, the applicant would be an experienced Truck Mechanic who can work unsupervised. Experienced late model truck mechanics who have a keen interest in Hydraulics and Electronics would be encouraged to apply.

Duties include:

• Auto electrical fault finding, repair and installation
• Hydraulic fault finding, repair and installation
• Pneumatic fault finding, repair and installation
• Mechanical fault finding, repair and installation
• Basic welding, oxy and machining work
• Completion of paperwork/reports

Key Skills

• Work safely and to mine site regulations/standards
• Fill out maintenance reports as required
• Ability to communicate with supervisor
• Ability to travel to site at short notice if required
• Be clean, good housekeeping, environmentally friendly
• Ability to work unsupervised
• A Trade Certificate (Mechanical/Fitter related)
• 18 years old or older (as it is a legal requirement on most mine and quarry sites)

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

• Basic welding mig and stick, fabrication
• Oxy cutting, brazing
• Basic lathe, milling machine skills
• Possession of any mine site tickets
• Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electronic Certificates
• HR Driver's Licence
