Fleet Controller - Port Hedland (FIFO)

Campbell Transport is a locally owned, transport and freight company. We move general freight, bulk product and livestock, as well as hauling product in the mining sector. Operating for over 20 years, we move thousands of tonnes a day and are only getting busier..

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Controller to join our growing team in Port Hedland. In this diverse leadership role you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the daily operations of the Port Hedland fleet of Quads. to achieve maximum performance and meet all performance targets. This position is available to local residents and applicants residing in Perth on a 2:1 roster.  

Main responsibilities include:

• Manage the fleet to achieve maximum efficiency
• Optimise business efficiency by reducing costs and time lost
• Deliver exceptional service to our clients
• Achieve our company's production through organised fleet co-ordination
• Champion our safety culture - Don't get hurt when moving dirt - a focus on individual ownership and practical solutions to managing risk.
• Conduct regular safety and compliance checks and implement changes as required
• Responsible for managing drivers on a day to day basis to ensure they are aware of their requirements
• Performance Management of drivers and recruiting of new staff in conjunction with the Operations Manager and HR Manager
• Work with the Workshop Manager to ensure maximum haulage capacity occurs without compromising service equipment requirements

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience as a leader within the transport industry as well as a solid background in truck driving. You will be a safety minded team player with good organisation and communication skills with the ability to prioritise and meet performance targets. You will have the ability to work with different personality types and motivate team members by promoting a positive work environment.
