Strategic Portfolio Management is responsible for the development of the strategic approach to the management, planning and investment of the University’s extensive and diverse property portfolio. In this context the position ensures that the University enjoys maximum benefits as a result of the continued and prioritised delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects and the efficient planning, management and maintenance of its physical infrastructure and assets, which is a key to achieving excellence in teaching, learning and research.
Working under general direction, the Building Services Engineer assists the Engineering Services Planning & Energy manager in the planning, development and implementation of strategies for the procurement of Engineering Services Masterplans, Building Asset Management Plans and assists in the development and implementation of market leading energy management projects throughout the University, to minimise energy costs and associated greenhouse gas emissions.
The Building Services Engineer is responsible for significant contribution towards the development and implementation of engineering & asset investment plans, and energy reduction strategies to ensure the University effectively and sustainably manages its infrastructure portfolio.
To be successful you will need:
- Sound knowledge of and demonstrated experience in building services engineering principles include Mechanical and/or Electrical, along with preferably Hydraulic and / or Fire & Safety.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in building management systems and sustainability principles.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in carrying out energy audits and / or engineering feasibility studies.
- Demonstrated understanding of asset management principles and / or a willingness to learn and adopt these in addition to standard suite of building engineering principles.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex engineering matters to resolve problems and to ensure optimum system and business performance.
