Connexion Telematics Ltd (Connexion) is a well-funded and profitable, ASX-listed technology company supplying proprietary asset management and mobility software to the US Automotive Industry.
With a development team based in Melbourne and a satellite office in Detroit, the Company is poised for significant growth. As part of its growth plans, Connexion is seeking to appoint a well-rounded and technically strong Financial Controller to lead its Finance Team.
Reporting directly to the CEO (based in Sydney) and working alongside the COO (based in Melbourne), this newly created role is a key position in establishing Connexions Finance Team with a US focus. The Finance function is currently outsourced. Ahead of various strategic growth initiatives, the Company is internalising this function, led by this key appointment.
Initially, the position will be very hands on, being the only internal resource within Finance. Therefore, as well as being technically strong, you will not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and attend to bookkeeping and payroll requirements. However, as the Company grows, we will expect you to build your Finance Team on an as-needs basis.
From 30 June 2021, the Company will transition from an AUD to a USD presentational currency. Therefore, experience with this process, whilst taking full ownership of preparing the 30 June 2021 Annual Report in USD, will be highly regarded.
What does this involve
Timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts (in USD from 31 July 2021)
Various analysis for internal decision-making purposes
Preparation of rolling financial forecasts and annual budgets (in USD from 1 July 2021)
Quarterly, half yearly and annual reporting to the ASX (in USD from 30 June 2021)

Liaison with external advisors in Australia and North America for the preparation of income tax, R&D returns and other relevant returns to ensure the Group remains fully compliant
Attendance to all bookkeeping duties (minimal transactions) and monthly payroll
Self-starter and ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated obsession with efficiency
Trained and qualified in public practice, ideally with medium-sized firm
5 years post qualification experience working in a similar role
