Opera Australia (OA) is Australias national opera company dedicated to enriching Australia's cultural life with exceptional opera and sustaining and developing the art form. OA is dedicated to delivering outstanding performances as the resident company at the Arts Centre Melbourne and the Sydney Opera House, and through touring across the country.  OA has a range of major projects supporting the future of opera as a contemporary offering, extending the reach of its art-form to new and emerging audiences and of connecting appropriately with specific communities around the nation.

About the Role

  • You will be responsible for supporting the Associate Producer in the development of opera productions and other projects produced by Opera Australia to high artistic and technical standards.
  • The role will coordinate the requirements of the performing company and the production requirements in the rehearsal room and at venues as required.
  • You will work with key stakeholders including the Productions Support Leads & Administrators to ensure a consistent approach to the delivery of OA's amazing productions


  • Experience in a similar role providing administrative support and/or coordinating project activities and stakeholder requirements, ideally in a productions environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with creative and technical personnel and performers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safe work practices.

Knowledge of databases including iPOS, ArtsVision or Tessitura is highly desirable.

You must also have:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, including strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise and control own workload.
  • You will have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and be able to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • A strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • High-level writing and communication skills.
  • A team player who is self-motivated and shows initiative.
  • Drivers licence.

About you

The successful Company Administrator will have experience in an administration role, or equivalent. A qualification in Events management, or related field is desirable. You will have worked within a fast and ever-evolving workplace environment.
