Play Workshop is a small but growing business that designs and constructs playgrounds across NSW and ACT. We strive to build beautiful and creative playgrounds for our clients, including Local Councils, Schools, Childcare Centres, Landscape Contractors and more.

About the Role

Play Workshop is looking for a 1st/2nd year apprentice carpenter to join our team and work alongside our experienced Lead Carpenter. 

 

We offer great rates and an opportunity for mentoring alongside an experienced and skilled lead carpenter for the right person who wishes to bring their energy and can-do attitude into our business and help it grow further. 

 

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Silverwater NSW. Rates of pay will be offered commensurate with experience and suitability for the role. 

 

The role includes but is not limited to: 

• Production of all timber-related products.
• Maintain excellent relationships with all materials suppliers.
• Assist with reporting systems to measure performance of workshop area.
• Assist in the maintenance of machinery.
• Handling and Packaging of all timber products.
• Occasional installation of playgrounds onsite and assisting the installers.
• Complete and keep logbooks, timesheets, and other paperwork up to date on daily basis.
• Maintain clean and tidy workspace.

 

Skills and Experience:

• Current drivers licence and own vehicle.
• General on-site experience and/or understands a workshop environment. 
• Problem solving skills.
• Great accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Be willing to learn and develop new skills.
