Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and proactive worker who is committed and passionate in supporting volunteers to achieve positive outcomes. 

The successful applicant will have great people skills and a level of maturity and empathy to work collaboratively within our team and in supporting our 120 volunteers and the community.  This is a fast-paced role that is suited to a person who is an excellent communicator with great time management skills and can easily work across the roles of front desk administration and volunteer coordination to achieve productive outcomes every day. 

Position Duties 

• Answer and direct phone calls
• Greet clients & visitors
• Organise and schedule appointments
• Coordinator and support our 120 volunteers
• Assess the organisations needs and recruit, volunteers to support the ongoing delivery of all programs
• Support all volunteers with ongoing training and supervision
• Develop external relationships with relevant stakeholders and partners to identify opportunities to support and extend the volunteer program
• Collect and collate statistics
• Maintain reporting requirements

Person Specification

• Relevant qualifications or experience in HR or volunteer coordinating for a community organisation
• Knowledge of the current National Volunteers Standards
• Attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Suite
• Provide general support to all clients
• Ability to manage competing demands
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a small team
• Prepare monthly reports
• Attend network, staff meetings & developmental days
• Commitment to work with all volunteers and clients
• Well developed written and verbal communication skills
• Participate in and oversee student placements
• Carry out other duties as required by the Executive Officer or Board of Governance
• Adhere to all Policies and Procedures of Hills Community Aid
• Be an active team member, sharing responsibilities, skills and information
• Ensure a clean and safe workspace
• Neat presentation and excellent customer service skills
• Capacity to work flexible hours as requested when required
• Current NSW drivers licence, own registered and insured vehicle
• Working with Children Check
• Current Police Check
