About the role

A 4-5-month contract role (with possible extension) has become available for an experienced Site Foreman to join our team with a start early to mid-April. 

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be running a construction site at Shoalwater Bay QLD and will be responsible for the daily supervision of subcontractors and site works to meet project requirements. 

The successful applicant will be self-driven, organised, have excellent attention to detail, be safety focused, a good communicator and not too proud to pick up a shovel if thats whats needed to get the job done. Tasks and responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaise daily with the Project Manager,
  • Manage subcontractors and tradesmen in conjunction with the Project Manager,
  • Ensure compliance with site access procedures,
  • Supervise and coordinate works,
  • Ensure that work standards are maintained,
  • Manage activities as directed by the Project Manager,
  • Ensure compliance with site induction requirements,
  • Ensure compliance with safe work practices and procedures on site,
  • Identify, avoid and, where necessary, report WHS and environmental impacts and risks.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • A trade or tertiary background and qualification in Building, Construction or Engineering.
  • Experience in building refurbishments and upgrades ideally including site management of building sheeting/cladding works, electrical installation works, concrete works.
  • A minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • A high-level ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Well-developed construction planning skills 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with people at all levels.
  • Sound knowledge of construction trades and ability to assess quality of workmanship.
  • A full drivers licence and own car.
  • Have a good sense of humour!

The successful applicant will be required to pass a police check to obtain a Defence Access Pass.
