About the role
A 4-5-month contract role (with possible extension) has become available for a site assistant/ leading hand to join our team with a start early to mid-April.
Reporting to the Project Manager and Site Foreman, you will be working on a construction site at Shoalwater Bay QLD.
Your role will be varied and will range from assisting the Site Foreman and Project Manager with site-based project admin support tasks to on-the-tools trade tasks. The role could suit a trade experienced worker looking to move into project management or a site admin/junior project manager looking to gain more on-site trade experience.
The successful applicant will be self-driven, organised, able to multi-task and ready to pick up a shovel if thats whats needed to get the job done. In exchange you will receive a competitive salary, work on an interesting project and be part of a supportive team.
Tasks and responsibilities
Assist Site Foreman in subcontractor management.
Assist Site Foreman in trade site tasks extent will depend on ability and competence.
Assist Site Foreman with administrative tasks including maintenance of site records.
Security access management.
Induction of personnel and plant to site.
Assist the Project Manager in engagement of subcontractors and procurement of supplies.
Obtain insurance certificates, white cards, SWMS's and Building Code documentation from subcontractors.
Conduct site audits, inspections and verifications.
Assist with completing daily and monthly reports.
Review Safe Work Method Statements.
Be familiar with the company management system and adhere to policies and procedures.
Help manage safety on site
Skills and experience
To be successful in this position you will need to have:
Previous experience in a trade role.
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and work to strict deadlines.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Understanding and awareness of safety on a construction site.
Must have a full drivers licence and own car.
Must be able to pass a police check.
Have a good sense of humour!
The successful applicant will be required to pass a police check to obtain a Defence Access Pass.
