Finance Officer

                                (58.5 hours per fortnight) 

A permanent position has become available at Alliance Housing (WA). Alliance Housing is a not for profit government registered community housing provider operating throughout the south west of Western Australia. It is a leading, dynamic, fast-growing organisation currently servicing and managing a number of homes and focused on developing projects to expand the stock portfolio to meet ever-increasing need for affordable housing. 

The Finance Officer, reporting to the CEO, will perform a comprehensive range of accounting services. The position provides financial accounting and administrative services within the organisation.  As part of the small, busy staff team, you will also be required to undertake additional duties from time to time. 

Key duties and Responsibilities 

  • Prepare monthly financial reports
  • Reconcile transaction reports.
  • Data entry
  • Prepare and lodge BAS and PAYG reports within deadlines.
  • Assist with the preparation of cash flow forecasts.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets.
  • Process month end standard transaction reports.
  • Provide customer service to tenants and resolve any financial disputes raised by tenants
  • Be a key point of contact for financial and accounting matters.
  • Support the CEO with projects and task as required
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Alliance Housing organisational services and processes.

Selection Criteria Required

  1. Demonstrated computer literacy skills and the ability to produce a range of comprehensive financial reports and forecasts for CEO and Board of Management
  2. MYOB experience will be highly regarded
  3. Minimum 2-3 years experience as an Accounts Officer and/or Assistant Accountant with recognised accounting qualifications
  4. A friendly, positive and professional attitude in dealing with clients and staff, including excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
  5. The ability to establish positive organisational relationships.
  6. The ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
