2 x Mechanical Project Engineer - DIDO - Brisbane : Surat Basin

About the Opportunity

Due to a new project win, I am now assisting with an urgent requirement for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join the team at one of our projects within the Surat Basin, on a 3:1 roster, full time Project Specific Contract basis. There will be an initial 1-2 months based in Brisbane. 

·         PE – mechanical: Brisbane based with visits to site 
·         PE – mechanical with decent understanding of electrical: Site based role
  
Both PE’s need to be broadly skilled.   Project involves major procurement package (parts, equipment, packaged systems) and all onsite construction; civil (subcontracted), structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation.

Key Accountabilities 

• Understand and deliver upon required project outcomes in terms of technical specifications, budget, safety, quality and program
• Preparation of project management plans, quality & safety documentation
• Subcontractor management, including requests for quotations, bid evaluation, subcontract award and progress monitoring
• Material take offs, procurement and expediting;
• Preparation of Work Packs & ITP’s
• Project change management process
• Compilation and submission of MDR
• Liaise with Site Managers to ensure that all works are undertaken in a timely manner and in accordance with the contract documentation and quality procedures
• Assist the Project Manager with the collection of information for timely submission of progress claims

  Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor of Engineering Mechanical
• 3+ years’ experience within the Gas Industry in a similar role
• Proven experience in Gas Facilities construction and Maintenance
• Ability to work Day & Night Shift 
• Familiarisation with AS2885 & B31.3
• Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Developed conceptual, analytical and planning skills
