The Role

We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our busy Logistics team. This role is based at our Hoxton Park facility in Western Sydney

This position is required to:

Maintain thorough knowledge of all contracted deliverable requirements for the accounts under his/her responsibility. Develop, implement, maintain and review specific procedures and protocols to ensure the security of customer inventory and property up to and including hand-over to contracted carriers. Monitor projects; assess potential problem areas and co-ordinate solutions with functional managers. Develop and implement strategies and activities to support existing and new products and services, to reduce costs and to increase profitable revenue.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Direct, monitor and manage the activities of team leaders and team members within the operation.
  • Undertake department and staff performance reviews
  • Ensure Schenker WHS policy and procedures are implemented and maintained
  • Undertake operation reviews as part of our ongoing continuous improvement programs.
  • Introduce and maintain day to day operations standards and communication with team leaders.
  • Produce accurate reports on attendance and manpower planning
  • Host toolbox talks, monthly communication sessions and quarterly information town halls
  • Attend to other duties as deemed necessary by the Operations Manager
  • Build relationships within the organisation
  • Provide advice and guidance on all aspects of the inventory control


Competencies and Skills required:

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills, highly service orientated
  • Experience in the Freight Forwarding/Logistics industry in a similar role
  • Specific Warehouse Management System skills
  • Good awareness of and exposure to WHS within an operating environment
