Our client is a high profile FMCG business with a strong local brand and global presence. They have a strong commitment to innovation, passion and an insatiable determination to constantly deliver the highest quality products to market.

The continued growth of its market share has led to an opportunity for a highly capable, commercial and technical Financial Controller to join their Finance Team.

Purpose:
The Financial Controller will take responsibility for internal and external financial reporting and accounting matters across the business with a focus on continued improvement and commercial value-add.  Ensuring financial systems, processes and internal controls are effective in supporting the delivery of timely, accurate and meaningful outputs.
  
MAIN ROLE AND ACTIVITIES

  • Manage all internal financial reporting responsibilities of the business including monthly management accounts and weekly KPI reporting;
  • Maintain oversight of all accounting matters ensuring strong organisational discipline and controls over the general ledger and other accounting records are being monitored and maintained effectively;
  • Enhancement of existing reporting processes, systems, methodologies and controls to better deliver and enhance financial performance management with a focus on simplification;
  • Liaise with Group finance team and engaging in Group finance forums to ensure ongoing internal obligations are met as well as addressing ad-hoc requirements;
  • Lead the annual financial budgeting process, ensuring robust plans underpin the financial position;
  • Manage the preparation of all financial aspects of rolling three-year strategic plans;
  • Monitor financial forecasting process and anticipated performance, identifying opportunities and risks to be addressed proactively;
  • Manage external audit relationship and lead the execution of the annual audit process and delivery of all statutory reporting obligations;
  • Attend to all tax compliance responsibilities of the business as well as working with external advisors on tax planning processes and opportunities.
  • Oversight of Cashflow management, forecasting and planning;
  • Provide leadership and mentoring within the extended Finance function as part of the Finance Leadership Team, collaboratively focussing on team management including engagement, communication, recognition, survey feedback, talent mapping and succession planning;
  • Other ad hoc responsibilities as required.

KEY EXPERIENCES:

  • 8-10 years plus experience in a Finance, Accounting and/or Commercial management positions.
  • Undergraduate degree qualified in accounting, commerce, business or equivalent is essential
  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • Experience in a FMCG branded consumer goods environment and/or other manufacturing environment is desirable
