Engineering Draftsperson

The Role

Based in Beresfield, NSW, VLI is seeking an experienced Engineering Draftsperson to join our Engineering Team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Engineering Superintendent, Drilling, this role is responsible for updating and creating relevant drawings associated with the enhancement of the Drilling Product line.

This role will involve:

• Providing support to staff in the retrieval and production of engineering drawings
• Processing engineering change documentation as required
• Ability to understand and undertake basic quality control/assurance procedures including the ability to recognise quality deviations/faults
• Understanding and utilising basic statistical process control procedures
• Creation and control of build manuals. Preparing and/or revising drawings in accordance with agreed specifications and guidelines
• Ensuring drawings and designs are in accordance with the relevant company , Australia and international standards
• Ensuring best CAD practices are used for mechanical designs
• Assisting in the preparation of Risk Assessments, quotations, supply agreement documentation, various supply chain support activities, DFMEAs and other data as required
• May involve both Domestic and International travel from time to time should the need arise

 

To be considered for this permanent role, you will have:

• A Diploma of Engineering as a minimum 
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position, OEM backgrounds are highly favourable
• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of 3D mechanical drafting packages such as AutoCAD and Inventor
• Exposure to ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, Pronto would be seen as favourable
• SAP MM (Material Management) knowledge would be considered highly favourable
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Exemplary Organisational skills 
• The ability to work autonomously or as part of team
