ABOUT THE ROLE

 

As a result of recent significant growth in the Factory Department, a vacancy for a Factory Manager is being offered.

Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate key objective is to:

  • Properly organise mechanical assembly team members and regularly walking the factory floor to monitor the performance of factory staff and ensuring that all mechanical assembly are completed in a timely manner.

  • Regularly inspecting finished mechanical assemblies to determine whether they meet established quality standards
  • Organise shipping, commissioning, and installation of automated systems
  • Organise the receiving and storage of Work In Progress (WIP) stock.
  • Provides trade guidance and assistance as part of a work team
  • Compiles and analyses production records
  • Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation
  • Evaluates the condition of production equipment
  • Operates various machineries, lifting equipment and hand tools
  • Assists in the provision of training to employees in conjunction with supervisors/trainers
  • Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment within the factory.
  • Willing and able to travel

Projects range from automation and robotic cells and special purpose equipment, predominantly for manufacturers.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

 

Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (Fitting)
  • Qualified and licensed Fitter and Turner is a must

 

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years experience in a Mechanical Fitter or Toolmaker role.  Experience in the automation or manufacturing industry preferred but not essential.

  • Helps manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results
  • Enforces company policies and guidelines
  • Ensures that production plans are completed by a certain time
  • Manages the installation, shipping and servicing requirements
  • Demonstrate outstanding problem-solving skills and resolve any issues that may derail production.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication, management, and leadership skills to ensure that factory operations run smoothly.
  • Contacts appropriate sources for repair issues
  • Counsels employees on how to achieve an optimal output or workflow
  • Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees
  • Creates and maintains professional schedules
  • Communicates with and assists other manufacturing departments as needed

 

Desirable Skills and Attributes: 

  • Forklift License (preferred but not essential)
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred but not essential)
  • A current Australian Driver's License

 

Personal Attributes:

  • Demonstrate outstanding problem-solving skills and resolve any issues that may derail production.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication, management, and leadership skills to ensure that factory operations run smoothly.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving

  • Eager to upskill knowledge and learn more every day
