About the organisation

The International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies is the global network of arts councils, ministries of culture and government agencies that advance arts and culture, with member institutions representing over 70 countries. The IFACCA Secretariat is headquartered in Sydney, Australia and comprises a small team of committed staff who manage programmes and services for the Federation; nurture international relationships with and between members; and provide them with trusted advisory services. While we work closely with government institutions, as an organisation, the Secretariat is lean, agile and non-bureaucratic.

About the role

We seek an experienced Operations Manager with a background in government or not-for-profit sectors to manage operational and financial processes; oversee membership administration; and support the governance of the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA). 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • sound financial acumen and attention to detail
  • proven aptitude for business process and systems improvement
  • well-developed analytical, negotiation and communications skills
  • interest in international current affairs and public policy.


The Operations Manager:

  • manages all administrative and financial aspects of IFACCA membership
  • manages, monitors and improves the organisations information management systems according to the IT Strategy, plan and standards, in coordination with communications directives and adhering to the highest standard of quality assurance
  • manages and ensures quality control of the CRM (Salesforce) membership data and record keeping, including yet not limited to agreed structures and processes
  • manages corporate services and implements appropriate policies and procedures to meet the organisations objectives, and ensures required standards and legislative and compliance obligations are met
  • coordinates and monitors financial processes, including the supervision of a bookkeeper and annual auditing requirements, and supports the Executive Director on financial reporting to the IFACCA Board
  • supports the Executive Director in governance, and associated administration and record keeping
  • contributes to the delivery of IFACCA projects, services and events, and where appropriate, coordinates services in accordance with the IFACCA Strategy 2021 - 2026, with particular attention to membership.

Flexible working conditions may be considered, including the possibility of some work to be delivered from home. Once international travel restrictions ease, the Operations Manager may have the opportunity to work in-country on international programmes and events delivered by the Secretariat, such the General Assembly and World Summit on Arts and Culture.
