Plumbing Maintenance Officer Full time

Working as a part of an expanding, multidisciplinary maintenance team you will be responsible to ensure that the plant and equipment of the hospital is functioning and maintained.  You will achieve this by directly applying your skills, working in conjunction with other trades staff, directing contractors and assisting in the formulation and deployment of maintenance plans. The role also includes general maintenance.

You must be willing to be on call every third week and attend after hours to address the call if required. Ordinary hours will be rostered between Monday to Friday requiring the ability to work weekends on a rotational basis.

To be successful in this position it is essential that you:

• possess a trade certificate in plumbing and posses a current A Class Plumbing Licence
• are safety conscious and have a working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and regulations
• have previous experience working in hospitals, facilities management or similar
• have knowledge of building services, mechanical and electrical
• have building trades and maintenance knowledge
• can work autonomously
• are able to problem solve/fault find and make decisions
• have a customer service ethic and are able to effectively communicate
• can demonstrate and work within the Bethesda Health Care Values at all times

Whilst not essential, it is desirable that you:

• have knowledge of water treatment testing processes
• knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration
• posses a restricted electrical licence
