Cottesloe Golf Club is a highly regarded and rated Club in Perth. Located in Swanbourne within the western suburbs of Perth in Western Australia. Cottesloe Golf Club has been in existence since 1908 and has a reputation for excellence in service to members and guests.
The Club has recently completed significant course changes under the guidance of course architect Graham Marsh and the installation of a new irrigation system which has led to a dramatic improvement in the overall presentation of the Course. Further green and bunker renovations are planned next summer. It is an 18-hole par 72 golf course running through north south orientated coastal sand dunes. It has couch tees, kikuyu fairways and bent grass greens.
An exciting opportunity exists for an Assistant Superintendent to join Cottesloe Golf Club. The job provides leadership support to the course maintenance team, assists the Superintendent with daily duties and performs maintenance activities. Reporting to the Superintendent and working as a key member of the maintenance team, the ACS works to ensure that maintenance activities support the goals of the club.
Assists the Superintendent with daily duties, supervision, scheduling, planning and administrative responsibilities,
Monitors daily conditions and coordinates with the superintendent to adapt priorities and scheduling as needed to the conditions of the facilities, weather, projects, scheduled events, and unforeseen circumstances,
Works with superintendent to ensure irrigation operations, repairs and maintenance are meet,
Completes staff orientation and training,
Mixes and applies fertilizer and chemicals,
Operates course equipment and performs basic equipment troubleshooting, and
Ensure the organisation, security and cleanliness of the course maintenance buildings, equipment and other assets.
Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge of WHS requirements.
The ability to provide strong leadership to the existing team.
Excellent communication skills.
Competent computer literacy and technical skills.
Experience and knowledge of the use and maintenance of turf machinery.
Compliance with environmental regulations and controls.
Significant knowledge of turf related chemicals, pest and disease management.
A sound knowledge of irrigation and water management practices.
Certificate 3 in Horticulture / Turf Management.
An alternate relevant qualification.
Minimum 3 years experience as an assistant course superintendent.
Valid drivers licence.
Understanding and enjoyment of the game of golf.
