PMB Defence is a world leading manufacturer of submarine battery systems, which started delivering and supporting the main storage batteries for Australias Collins Class Submarines in 1989.
PMB Defence has now grown its business by winning various local and international contracts such as supplying submarine battery systems to Canada, the United Kingdom and other international customers.
PMB Defence is also under contract with Naval Group, the prime contractor for Australias Attack Class Future Submarine Program.
About the role
This position is available for a twelve month parental leave contract, with possibility for extension. This is an excellent opportunity to join an Adelaide based business going through a transformational growth phase. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, key responsibilities will include:
Managing processes for central accounting operations, including cash control, maintenance of the general ledger;
Preparation of key monthly management reports and analysis of variance to Budget;
Managing international accounting and reporting on cash flow, foreign exchange and hedging;
Preparing and reviewing the annual group budget for the CFO
Playing a key role in the annual audit process to ensure reporting is to deadline and financial information is in accordance with audit requirements;
Preparing annual income tax return data for external tax consultants;
Ensuring the effective use of current systems, including reviewing and updating systems to improve efficiency and developing new management information systems;
Providing assurance services on all important aspects of risk management strategies and practices, management control frameworks and practices, and information used for decision-making and reporting
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
We are seeking applications from experienced CA/CPA qualified professionals. Previous experience in a global, geographically dispersed business is desirable, as is previous exposure to a manufacturing business environment.
The successful candidate will have excellent time management skills and the capability to prioritise competing demands, ensuring excellent attention to detail.
The ability to work in a fast paced environment is essential, as are high level communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, and a strong team focus.
This position will be required to:
Obtain a current police clearance
Successfully pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screen
Undertake six monthly lead in blood testing
The ability to obtain an NV1 Australian Defence Security clearance (essential), or hold an existing clearance (desirable)
