Location  

Anthony Lagoon is situated approximately 440km north east from its nearest town, Anthony is set in the hub of the Northern Territorys Barkly Tablelands on the historic Barkly Stock route. 

Duties & responsibilities

We are currently seeking two mechanically minded individuals to join the crew at Anthony Lagoon in the position of Bore Mechanic or Mechanic. In these roles you will contribute to the success of the Station through the maintenance of fleet, machinery and bores. No two days will be the same and your work will vary.

These roles report to the Station Manager and youll be a proactive and positive member of the crew.

Your role is key to the success of the business. On any given day this could include, but is not limited to:

  • Maintenance and servicing of a variety of vehicles and machinery including Toyotas, Grader & Loader
  • Responsible for leading water maintenance team
  • Observation & maintenance of watering points
  • Travelling between water points in a 4WD vehicle / MR Truck
  • 4WD Vehicle/truck and tools provided on site for daily work duties
  • Maintenance of 4WD/ vehicle and bore truck, crane, slings and spare parts
  • Operation of Non-slewing Mobile Crane (licence testing can be made available when on site)
  • Weekly maintenance of bores across the cattle station
  • Maintenance of Mono pump systems
  • Solar bore pump systems maintenance
  • Generator knowledge
  • Maintenance of troughs and keeping a log of water points
  • Reporting any issues back to the Station Manager
  • Assisting elsewhere on the property if required
  • Keep records of maintenance and parts for each bore
  • Maintain spare parts inventory

Experience required

  • Experience in a similar role with machinery experience, preferred
  • Current drivers licence
  • Must have a HC or MC or be prepared to upskill to one
  • Experience working on a cattle station is preferred
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Ability to organise a daily/weekly work schedule
