Administration Officer - Medical Practice

Beaufort and Skipton Health Service is a rural health service that provides urgent care, community health, medical service, acute care and residential aged care in integrated units at Beaufort and Skipton. We are currently seeking a professional and highly motivated part-time Administration Officer to join our team at the Skipton Medical Practice.  This part time position is for every second Friday with availability for leave cover. The successful applicant will be based at the Skipton Campus, however will be required to work across both sites as rostered.

Key duties include:

  • Greeting patients and checking into the IT system
  • Attending to patient needs as required
  • Answering incoming phone calls and arranging appointments
  • Produce invoices and processing payments, including cash and EFTPOS
  • Processing Medicare payments
  • Coordinate with internal technical staff regarding patient's needs

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills & attributes:

  • Experience working in a similar role and environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Sound organisational and administrative skills
  • The ability to prioritise tasks working in a busy and dynamic working environment
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience in Microsoft office suite of products and use of medical data bases (Best Practice).
