About the Role In this role you will be working in the Parks and Gardens team and will be responsible for liaising with internal and external partners to provide arboricultural advice on projects that impact City owned and managed trees.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing an Electric Line Clearance Management Plan that meets all legislative requirements within the date provided.
Collaborating with internal teams to provide arboricultural advice and ensure the goals of the Urban Forest Strategy and Tree Management Policy are met.
Providing excellent customer service and arboricultural advice to all stakeholders to ensure the application of best practice in tree management for Council owned and managed trees.
Assessing the retention value of trees on development sites and calculating offsets where trees are considered lost.
Reviewing Internal Referrals for crossover permits and facilitating a response on behalf of the Parks and Gardens department, including relevant permit conditions.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Certificate IV in Arboriculture.
Current Victorian Driver License.
Current employee Working with Children check.
Demonstrated knowledge of arboricultural practices and tree assessment techniques.
Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated experience provide in providing high quality customer service.
Demonstrated ability to manage time, set priorities and plan and organise one’s own work, to efficiently achieve specific objectives with the resources available and in a timely manner.
Competent in using computer software packages, GIS systems and managing large databases.
Experience in promoting a ‘safety culture’ to all staff and contractors.
