We offer an exciting opportunity to join our team at Santanol, a growing international natural ingredients company. We are looking to expand our business around the world by recruiting an experienced sales professional to take charge of our East Asian sales activities.
The incumbent will work with the senior management and other regional sales executives to design and implement a business plan that will concentrate on growth within the fragrance sector, whilst looking at future growth opportunities new oils or new applications.
Taking on a highly important sales role, you will be tasked with working closely with the producers of the products, developing the customer base within fragrance and FMCG. At all times you will be an ambassador for our brand focusing on lifting the market perception of Santanol and aiming to become a trusted partner to customers.
About the business:
Santanol is a world leader in the production and distribution of pure East Indian Sandalwood oil for use in fragrances & flavour composition. Our current product portfolio is made up of high-value essential oils of Sandalwood that are a key component of the perfumer's palette for the creation of fine fragrances & perfumes, candles and body care products. Sandalwood oil also has other uses in the aromatherapy, flavours, and health & wellness industries.

Santanol owns and manages the entire product process - from planting the crops through to distillation and distribution. We have managed our plantations so that we can ensure that the trees mature on an ongoing basis thereby guaranteeing a reliable harvest and supply for the future. Whilst East Indian Sandalwood oil has been used for thousands of years it is only now that the source is from sustainably managed plantations mainly in Western Australia.
Purpose of the role:
The role is based in our Perth office and will focus on the East Asian Market with a specific emphasis on Japan, China and South Korea. The successful applicant will have a strong focus on client relationships and the development of new customers to build our international trade.
Key Responsibilities & Activities:
- Achieve revenue goals, secure new customers and continue to grow the sales activity of company
- Identify and pursue potential areas for growth
- Demonstrate consumer demand and market trends for the olfactive notes & accords of the product
- Use understanding of the fragrance creation process and engage with perfumers to demonstrate the product and create demand
Candidate Profile & Characteristics:
- Strong Communicator
- Superior selling and negotiating ability
- Confident, highly self-motivated, out-going, social and inspiring
- Excellent client relationship skills
- Self-driven with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Hungry and ambitious with a strong desire to win and succeed
- Interest and previous experience within the fragrances & flavor industry at a commercial level is desirable but not essential
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to travel not only to visit clients but also to attend industry events to network and represent the company. Ideally, we are looking for an applicant who is fluent in Japanese, Korean or Mandarin as clear communications are essential.
