About the Business Cook & Associates are a family owned practice that has been operating in Adelaide for 30 years.
We are located in the city and provide a full range of services for our clients, including bookkeeping, STP, BAS, financial accounts and income tax returns. We have a variety of clients ranging from individuals, trust, companies and SMSF's.
About the role
This role will be suited for an experienced bookkeeper who loves dealing with people and will fit in with our small team. Some practice administration duties will also be included in the role.
There will be the opportunity for progression into other areas of taxation if you are interested in this career path. This is a part time role of approximately 20 hours per week working from our office in the city with onsite parking available. These hours are flexible to fit in with what works best for you also.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities Your jobs tasks and responsibilities include:
managing the weekly operations of client accounts using MYOB or Xero including:
assisting and reviewing client payroll including:
processing pay runs,
improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective accuracy,
correspondence with clients to maintain and ensure compliance and accuracy of data,
managing client booking tasks and ensuring tax obligations due dates are met,
Property management / construction experience beneficial.
Skills and Experience The successful candidate will have:
3 years minimum experience in bookkeeping,
excellent written and verbal communication skills,
excellent time management and organisational skills,
flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and work demands,
highly proficient with MYOB & XERO accounting software and processing payroll,
a strong, professional work ethic,
a high level of attention to detail,
show initiative and being proactive with work load,
ability to provide high level client service and identify and implement best practice solutions, and
a team player with a strong client focus.
