General Manager

General Manager for Leading Local Builder with National Brand, Opportunity to grow existing successful business, Attractive remuneration package.

Leading local builder G. J. Gardner Homes Springfield/Ripley is seeking the services of an experienced General Manager to drive, control and maximise returns for  an expanding residential construction business in one of Queenslands fastest growth corridors.

This is a full-time permanent role based at our Springfield office and reports to the Managing Director.

We are seeking a person who is:

• From a construction background with the ability to ensure profitable outcomes from across the entire spectrum of residential housing;
• Able to build and recruit teams made up of sales consultants, estimators, administrators, site supervisors and contractors; 
• Confident to drive new business opportunities and deliver strong sales performances
• Oversee the construction of a diverse range of high-quality new homes on time and on budget;
• Knowledgeable about building regulations and local authority requirements;
• Proficient in time management and ensuring optimum construction flows across multiple sites;
• Sound financial and business management skills and knowledge;
• Committed to cash flow management, cost control and profit optimisation.
• Practiced in ensuring excellent client outcomes and successfully managing disputes;
• Experienced in delivering compliant workplace health and safety requirements;
• Hard-working, committed and customer focused;
• Professional and well-presented with a talent for managing client expectations;
• Authentic and genuine, with the ability to connect and communicate with clients, salespeople, the construction and administration teams, suppliers and contractors;
• Positive with an enthusiastic attitude;
• Keen to follow set procedures and has an eye-for-detail; and
• Able to share a sense of humour and lead autonomously while making tough decisions.

The successful applicant will ideally have two (2) to five (5) years experience as a general manager for a busy residential new home building business, be results driven with a focus on accuracy and good time management. We are also seeking a candidate who is competent in using computer-based building company management systems and understands the importance of relevant and timely communication with clients and team members.
