Casual Intermediate Tax Accountant

We are a growing professional public practice working in the Macarthur Area who have a long-term employment opportunity with a friendly and busy team.

We are looking for someone who is focused on providing clients with excellent service and quality work. You must have excellent spoken English, be highly motivated, organised and able to work unsupervised. 

The role will be challenging, predominately being account preparation and taxation work for small and medium entity clients. 

Skills & Experience

• 2yrs + work experience in Taxation within a public practice 
• MUST hold an Australian Accounting Degree 
• Strong knowledge of tax law and accounting principles and practises
• Exceptional attention to detail and be able to take instruction  
• Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
• Experience in using Accounting software, MYOB, Xero and HandiSoft 
• Proficiency in Excel is essential 
• Ability to work collaboratively, as part of a team environment
• Highest standards of ethics, confidentiality and professionalism
• Excellent spoken English and written communication skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Individual/Rental Tax Returns 
• Assist in the preparation of Tax Returns and Financial Accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Companies
• Preparation of thorough working papers in preparation of BAS and IAS
• Work closely and take instruction from partners 
• Bookkeeping/Data entry 
• Workcover Reconciliations 
• Liaise on behalf of client with the ATO where required
• All other tax related duties required in a working practice.

We are offering a Casual position to start with remuneration based on experience and expertise. The 3 month Contract will be on an hourly rate plus Super to determine we have the right fit for our team. If a full-time contract is offered then a Salary will be negotiated.
