DDH1 Drilling is a company that provides a premium drilling service to the Australian mineral exploration and mining industries. Whilst the Company's expertise covers a range of drilling disciplines, it specialises in deep hole coring and multiple intersection/directional drilling.
We are currently seeking a field based Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator for our Western Australian Region to ensure standards of safety and compliance that we, and our clients, aspire to are achieved.
It is anticipated that this role will support both our surface and underground drilling operations. Please note that this position is for 'hard rock mineral exploration' drilling - not an oil and gas / subsea drilling position.
Reporting to the HSE Operations Manager, this role is focused around pro-actively influencing systems, processes and behaviours for operations on our exploration sites and effective delivery of WHS management to all site personnel to provide an incident free working environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Provide effective guidance, coaching and mentoring to all site personnel on effective health and safety practices.
Support managers, supervisors, and employees in the implementation of HSE policies, procedures including legislative compliance.
Incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions and facilitating to close-out in a timely manner.
Conducting HSE audits and inspections, facilitating to close-out.
To provide practical assistance and support to minimise the impact of workplace injury and related workplace costs, resulting in reduced workers compensation premiums as well as rehabilitation those who are injured.
Assisting in identifying hazards and establishing suitable controls and procedures for HSE management.
To ensure your success in this role it would be favourable to demonstrate the below:
Cert IV Occupational Health and Safety
Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAA)
Has an energetic hands on approach and a strong empathy with people at all levels within the business.
High level of work presentation and organisation.
Previous experience in a similar role
Current Drivers Licence.
