About the role:
We currently have a vacancy for a highly skilled Electrical Engineer who will be the leader of all electrical engineering matters across the Bell Bay site and will guide and provide technical support to the overall site. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for process improvement to develop and continuously improve production IT and machinery supervisory control and data acquisition and control systems to maintain production.
This permanent, full time position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and will be based at our Bell Bay sawmill in Tasmania (approx. 40 minutes from Launceston). With major capital improvements well under way and a business continually investing and growing, this is a perfect opportunity to combine your strong technical skills with a leader in the sawmilling industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
Driving opportunities for improvement and actively participating in and planning and delivery of equipment and systems to meet target outcomes
Provide technical leadership for engineering matters across the Site through process control, automation and data acquisition systems, PLC, SCADA, Data base, and Web based systems
Assisting with the planning and prioritising for continuous improvement within production areas relating to outcomes such as improved safety, production, efficiency/recovery, automation and prevention maintenance routines
Project planning on budget, on time, and deliver outcomes
Management of the Electrical Knowledge Base.
Provide specialist technical control systems application support, configuration, patches, updates and system management, including advice, reviews and technical reports.
Generate reports and analyse large datasets of production data with specialised tools to investigate issues and opportunities for improvement in process control and optimisation, including, but not limited to dashboarding for SIC and automated downtime recording.
Where required oversee contractors activities on site ensuring they comply with Timberlink Australias policies and procedures
Qualifications and Qualities you will bring to Timberlink:
Electrical Engineering Qualification
Industry experience in Scada and control and in data acquisition
Analytical and interpretation skills
SQL and data development and real time control
Demonstrated capacity to lead people and the ability to coach and mentor team members.
