Trainee Limestone Block Layer

WA Stoneworks is a leading retaining wall construction contractor in Perth. We are currently seeking a trainee limestone block layer to join one our crews.

The Opportunity

Due to our continued growth and increasing demand, we have a fantastic opportunity for a trainee limestone block layer to join our friendly and supportive team. Working alongside a highly experienced team, you will be provided the necessary training, mentoring and support required to carve a career in the retaining wall construction industry whilst gaining hands on experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Take a proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning the necessary skills and experience to deliver quality retaining walls to our valued clients.
  • Provide quality support to our team of experienced staff to deliver quality work in timely manner. This includes assisting in setting up jobs, maintaining a tidy work area and other general trades assistance activities.
  • Under supervision, learn to set up and construct retaining walls
  • Execute and deliver all work safely and to a high professional standard
  • Liaise with colleagues, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.


What you will need: 

  • No experience in the industry is required. Some knowledge or experience in construction and labouring duties an advantage.
  • Must be looking for a long term career development opportunity, not just a 'fill-in' job
  • Enjoy working hands-on in a physically demanding environment.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills, with the ability to perform measurements accurately.
  • A genuine desire to develop a career in the industry, with the motivation and enthusiasm to do you your best each day, is a must.
  • Construction Safety Awareness (White) Card (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Current C-class Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle (MR licence desirable)
