Administration Officer

The Daniel Morcombe Foundation was established in May 2005 as a lasting legacy to Daniel Morcombe. It was established by parents Bruce and Denise after their son Daniel was abducted and murdered in December 2003 while waiting to catch a bus on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

The Foundation's key role in the community is the education of all children about their personal safety. By directly assisting educators and parents through the funding and development of child safety educational resources as well as assisting young victims of crime, the Foundation continues to empower all Australians to make their local communities safer places for all children.

The Foundation is strongly committed to the development and education of Respectful Relationships for children and teenagers in our schools and communities and also assisting in reducing the over-representation of Indigenous Australians in the Child Protection sector.

Position Objectives:

  • To provide administrative assistance to all staff of a busy non-government, not for profit agency.
  • To liaise with clients, donors, and general members of the public.
  • To coordinate the Daniel Morcombe Foundation Shop and Merchandise.
  • To provide financial assistance to the Business Administrator in ensuring organisational effectiveness and sound financial management.
  • To provide assistance in the management of DMF policies and procedures and HR administration.

This position is a key support role working within our small team of great dynamics. An immediate start is preferred, with the scope to review hours to full time in early to mid 2021.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Efficiently and respectfully manage reception, incoming phone calls and all correspondence, including emails.
  • Interact in a professional and courteous manner with all families, community members and visitors.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Founders, Manager, and other staff.
  • Interact with suppliers to ensure the office is properly resourced.
  • Collect, date and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Coordinate the Shop and Merchandise including stock control.
  • Assist with the management of DMF Asset Register.
  • Assist with database management.
  • Fulfil other administrative tasks that you may be reasonably ask you to perform.


  • Prepare weekly accounts payable & receivable for DMF & Keystone.
  • Complete bank and petty cash reconciliations.
  • Fortnightly payroll preparation and processing (using Tanda & MYOB AccountRight).
  • Assist in the reconciliation and preparation of compliance reports, including BAS, IAS and ATO declaration reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial and non-financial monthly reports up to P&L.

HR Administration

  • Assist in the effective HR record management.
  • Administrative support for version control and maintaining of DMF Policy Procedure.
  • Assist in the administration of HR functions.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Approved QLD Blue Card
  2. Tertiary qualifications in Finance (Bookkeeping) and Business Administration or a similar field.
  3. At least 2 years demonstrated experience in administration and finance position.
  4. Sound knowledge of technology and computer software applications (Microsoft Office -  Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint and MYOB AccountRight) and their operation.
  5. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Current QLD Drivers Licence
