Executive Assistant

  • Full time position, Canberra
  • $68,000 plus superannuation 
  • 2-year contract with the possibility to extend

Reporting to and working closely with the CEO, this crucial role provides efficient, professional and confidential administrative assistance to the Chief Executive Officer. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive and well organised executive and administrative support to the CEO 
  • Coordinate papers, meeting logistics, and minutes for the Executive Committee and Board
  • Coordinate travel bookings for the CEO and Board
  • Manage the CEOs diary, invitations, and email 
  • Assist the CEO to provide administrative, operational and purchasing support to the office i.e. office manager tasks - including some basic IT support
  • Assist the CEO with correspondence, database management, and workshop and meetings logistics, and budget preparation support
  • Other duties as required 

Selection criteria:

  • Demonstrated high level of administration skills including Microsoft Office, basic computing and database management.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and time management, and an ability to juggle competing priorities and respond quickly and professionally as issues unfold.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform well both independently and as a member of a small team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and communication skills including the ability to establish effective and trusted relationships with strong confidentiality.
  • An understanding of and enthusiasm for the science, technology, engineering and mathematics sector.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the principles of diversity, fairness and equal opportunity.
