GRANSOLAR CONSTRUCCION DE PROYECTOS SL (GRS) branch in Australia has successfully tendered for the construction of the Blue Grass Solar Farm in Chinchilla, Queensland. GRS will provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction services on this important Australian renewable energy project.

We are currently looking for a Civil Supervisor as part of this project. The successful candidate must be an Engineer with experience in the EPC renewables market and with knowledge at the design, construction and commissioning phases of large scale solar projects. The successful candidate must be able to communicate with the personnel in English and Spanish due to the origin of some parts of the materials and stakeholders required for the project.


The role of Civil Supervisor is to assist in planning, designing, organising and overseeing the construction of the Photovoltaic Solar Plant in Bluegrass, Chinchilla, Queensland, including the management of subcontracted labour and resources.

Main tasks:

  • Supporting the Construction Manager during negotiations to secure civil works subcontracts (roadways, earth movement, foundations and fencing);
  • Validating the technical capability and resources employed by the different subcontractors who submit bids;
  • Defining the work sequence and areas;
  • Monitoring the progress of different works units and any incidents reported by supervisors;
  • Organising and checking civil engineering work by subcontractors;
  • Preparing weekly progress reports on the different civil engineering works units (foundations, fencing, roadways, trenches and earth movement);
  • Updating the CAD engineering drawings (As Built), whenever necessary;
  • Confirming invoices by the different subcontractors and approving them before they are finally approved by the Construction Manager;
  • Controlling arrival of machinery on site, monitoring performance and distribution on site;
  • Ensuring the different work teams assigned to the civil works implement adequate safety measures when carrying out their work;
  • Monitoring works progress to ensure it is in line with the contract Schedule and bring any delayed work up to date; and
  • Controlling whether machinery is suitable and sufficient to meet the required performance levels for the project.


  • Technical or Higher Engineer - specialised in Civil Engineering
  • Command of Excel, Word and Autocad at user level
  • Experience on international work sites
  • Previous experience in construction of photovoltaic solar farms
  • Bilingual Spanish required

The position is full time (38 hours).

Location is Chinchilla (Queensland)

Immediate start.

Salary: AUD$ 75,000.00 plus superannuation
