The opportunity

TAFE NSW is looking for individuals with current industry experience and knowledge in Carpentry to join the Delivery Implementation & Performance Class Support team as a Technical Assistant.

The Technical Assistant for Carpentry is responsible for class preparation, storing and monitoring of supplies and maintaining computing equipment to support teaching staff with the effective and efficient delivery of educational programs.

If you have:

  • Industry experience or equivalent and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the carpentry area.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment used in carpentry.
  • Appropriate licences for vehicles and machinery utilised in the carpentry area, including Forklift licence
  • Ability to support practical classes and meet deadlines.
  • Current drivers licence and first aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing a quality customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and participate as a member of a team.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Commitment and understanding of EEO, OH&S, ethical practice, ethnic affairs priority statement, and other legislative requirements as they relate to the position.
