Livestock Overseer


This unique opportunity is located on 15,000 acres approximately half an hour from Canberra ACT, near the towns of Queanbeyan and Bungendore NSW. The property presently runs 6,000 breeding ewes for fine merino wool and prime lambs.

A livestock overseer is required to manage all aspects of the day-to-day management of this large-scale operation which is close to city, schools and shops.

The successful applicant will have experience in a similar role and a passion to operate a best practice sheep enterprise. There will be opportunities to grow with the business.

Duties & Responsibilities

All aspects of animal health, stock husbandry and handling

Direction of staff and contractors

Implementation of operational and strategic plans

Operation within budgetary requirements

Maintenance of digital and hardcopy livestock records

Compliance with Work Health and Safety requirements

Compliance with sustainability accreditation program

Essential Criteria

2 years experience in a similar role, 5 years in agriculture

Hardworking, energetic, well-organised, independent, and self-motivated

Commitment to animal welfare and low-stress stock handling techniques

Strong written and oral communication, and computer literacy

Working dogs

NSW Firearms Licence and Drivers Licence
