The College is seeking applications for the part-time, ongoing position of TAS Technical Assistant to commence Term 1, 2021.
The Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) Faculty at Saint Ignatius' College Riverview delivers a variety of subjects with a strong emphasis towards Engineering, Design and Technology and Timber and Furniture.
The TAS Technical Assistant will provide general technical support to teaching staff and students across a range of activities within the TAS Faculty.
The TAS Technical Assistant is a part-time 0.6 FTE position (equivalent of 3 days per week) that is not required to work during the school holiday periods, with the exception of two weeks.
The successful applicant will:
have a working knowledge and understanding of TAS equipment, materials and chemicals as well as the WHS issues pertaining to these
have experience in the use of a wide range of commonly used hand tools, portable power tools and some fixed machinery
demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
demonstrate collaborative practices and a commitment to working as part of a team
demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to the Mission and Values of the College
hold a current Working with Children Check and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and well-being of children and young people
