About the Role
The Service Manager is responsible for transforming the performance and maintenance of all plant equipment, trucks and facilities into best in class.

Key responsibilities include:

  • ensuring the operational availability of all plant, equipment and trucks each day within agreed KPI’s
  • drive a safety-first culture focused on continuous improvement
  • developing, implementing and administering a preventative and breakdown maintenance system
  • maintaining all facilities such as buildings, depot yards, retail outlets, office spaces and soil production yards
  • developing, implementing and administering the Work Health and Safety System in accordance with industry best practice, legal requirements and company values
  • leading, managing, mentoring and developing the mechanics in the team to develop a high performing department
  • managing the financial budget, including wages, fuel, lubes and spare parts and managing exceptions appropriately, including active supplier and cost management
  • maintain appropriate stocks of spare parts to achieve the above within the budget
  • support capex planning & special projects to support the achievement of the vision and strategy
  • reporting and KPI achievement

You are an experienced service manager with a focus on safety and excellence, who can engage and motivate your team. You realise that this team is the core of the business and will do whatever it takes to deliver an exceptional customer service experience every time.

You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

  • Demonstrated service management experience
  • Heavy earthmoving, mining or transport industry knowledge
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to understand and adjust behaviour depending on the situation
  • Effective delegation skills with the ability to assign task responsibility and authority to others
  • Solution focused, with effective decision making and analytical skills
  • Comfortable with process and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a positive attitude, ability to interact with all levels of management and work individually as well as part of a team
  • Attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, policy and procedures and training guidelines
  • Good planning, prioritising, organising, strategic and time management skills
  • Demonstrated high level of workplace health and safety
  • Ability to effectively engage, influence and maintain respectful relationships both internally and externally

It is also desirable if you have a Diesel or Mechanical Trade Qualification
