We currently have a position for an Electrical Technician to work in container handling terminals, working initially at Moorebank and Port Botany, NSW, Australia. As the successful candidate you will work with Automated Stacking Cranes, RTGs, Manual / Automated Straddle Carriers and ancillary equipment.
The purpose of the role is to deliver front-line troubleshooting, problem solving and preventative maintenance to support high levels of product availability in the terminals.
You will be required to abide to all Occupational Health and Safety standards pertaining to the role. It is expected that you will be able to fault find unsupervised and be able to test and understand electrical systems. The ability to converse in a productive manner with the customer is paramount and attention to detail with reports and paperwork is extremely important.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Carrying out the Electrical and Mechanical fault finding.
Provide support to warranty and Engineering change work.
Provide technical assistance and mentoring to customer Technicians.
Record issues and provide feedback to local and global Engineering teams.
Performing corrective and preventative maintenance to EOM standards
To be successful in this role you will require:
Valid "A Grade" Electrical License (NSW)
Commissioning and maintenance experience with a sound knowledge and practical experience of PLC -control systems. Minimum experience of 4 years needed.
Knowledge of Omron CX suite & Siemens S7 along with TCP/IP, CANbus, or profinet/profibus comms networks is considered beneficial.
Knowledge of Industrial machinery. Experience with container handling vehicles or similar.
Knowledge of motor control components such as inverters, encoders and associated software.
Ability to carry out independent troubleshooting and problem solving
Knowledge of engine ECU and ability to carry out electrical works. Understanding of mechanics and hydraulics are considered as a benefit
General understanding of modern ICT technology, automation and exposure to network troubleshooting.
Ability to learn and develop yourself to become an expert in the field of automation support
Self-motivated to work in a challenging environment for finding solutions and improvements
Ability to work as a contributing team player with a diligent way of working
Ensure all activity is undertaken in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Ability to travel interstate from time to time to support customers and attend training.
