Based in Townsville, this diverse role supports the Contracts Manager in developing detailed estimates and completing competitive tender submissions. The main responsibilities of the role include:
Reviewing tender specifications and drawings to determine material and resource requirements
Computing costs and preparing estimates for tender submission
Consulting with clients, vendors, designers and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
Analysing completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs
Communicating project information to the construction and projects delivery team
Developing innovative material inputs and construction methods to reduce cost
Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts
Preparing construction methodologies and project schedules for tender submissions
About the candidate
This role requires an individual who can demonstrate an ability to manage tight timelines and multiple priorities. With a meticulous attention to detail and accuracy of work, you are proficient in computer programs such as MS Office and MS Project. With a need to interact with various stakeholders and parties, you will have strong interpersonal skills, confidence and professionalism in the way you present.
Good academic results, a high level of report writing skills, and the ability to use your initiative and think outside the box will all be highly regarded, as will an ability to problem solve and work well with others in a team environment.
