Hello there! We are looking for the newest member of Team Fringe - and you dont even need to be a hairdresser! We are looking for a good, fun person, who gets things done.
We truly believe that Fringe is an awesome place to work and the rest of the world is starting to realise! We are growing quickly and need someone to come on board to help us manage our growth!
Heres the basics you need to know about the job:
The job is part admin, part salon coordinator, part client communicator. You will be answering phones, responding to FB and Insta messages, confirming and booking appointments, looking after stock control, cleaning, general salon coordination. We want to develop the role with you - while theres some things that just need to get done, you will get a big say in exactly what youll be doing day to day.
Its a part-time position - around 20 hours a week. Its Tuesday to Friday starting 9-10 am and finishing around 2-3pm. We are flexible and will work with your schedule as much as we can.
You wont get rich at this job. The pay will be $22 - $25 an hour, depending on what you can bring to the table. It can be some extra spending money, but if you need to support your family on this income, then it probably isnt the job for you.
Our salon is on Kings Road, Pimlico. So plenty of free and easy parking. Its been renovated in the last few months so we think we have a pretty decent space for our team to feel at home in.
The work will be fun, fresh and dynamic. Youll be dealing directly with our whole team and our clients, not just sitting behind a reception desk all day staring at a screen.
We arent big on stress. While we expect you to work efficiently and get things done, we focus on open communication and making sure you have everything you need to do your job right the first time around.
We have a goal to make Fringe the best workplace in Townsville and really strive to give our team a workplace and culture that they genuinely want to be a part of and feel excited about coming to every day.
This is the type of person you need to be:
You are a good person. You care about our team, our clients and yourself.
You are always growing. You believe that whatever you do, you can do better. You dont get defensive. You dont make excuses. You love getting feedback because it makes you a better person.
You are a team player. The whole team can trust that youve got our backs (and weve got yours).
You will be on the phone a lot. So you need to enjoy talking to people and giving / getting direction.
You need to be reasonably competent with computers and tablets. We are moving towards being completely paperless so knowing your way around Google Drive and a spreadsheet will be an advantage.
You are the type of person who gets joy out of getting things done. You need to nail down the details. You dont need to race through work and get things done half-assed. We need you to slow things down and get them done right.
You need to be a person who loves to deliver remarkable experiences to other people. You know, you need to be someone who feels good by making other people feel good.
In short, your job will be to make sure that our stylists are able to do their job! And to have fun at work (who wants a job that isnt fun!). Our salon vibe is casual, but we do expect professionalism and punctuality. But what we dont expect is perfection or existing skills for you to qualify for this job. We can teach you that.
We expect intelligence, energy, and a get it done attitude. When you have questions, you will have a whole team ready to support you in finding the answer.
If this is a job that gets you so excited that you would even do it for free, we would totally accept that offer from you. But if you prefer compensation (and we totally get itwe prefer getting paid as well) this is what we offer: This is a part time, admin/coordinator job. The pay will be $22 - $25 an hour and the hours will be around 20 a week (Tuesday to Friday).
In addition to being a detailed person, you must be able to follow systems, processes and checklists. In fact, you will be helping us to document and improve our existing systems and processes. Just to prove that you are detail oriented, when you apply for this position via email you must include I want to join Team Fringe in the subject line. Yep, thats our little trick to sort out the people who blanket send their resume to anyone and everyone from the others (thats you) who are truly interested in being a part of Fringe.
We are looking to bring our new team member on board as soon as possible, but we will spend as much time as we need to find the best fit both in abilities and culturally. One thing that will give you a BIG leg up (but is optional) is to send a quick video to us along with your resume.
In your video tell us why you think youre perfect for this job and why you will rock this position. This is purely for us to get a sense of your personality. And if you decide not to send a video (thats ok), please tell us why you chose not to send in a video.
Oh. And did we mention the biggest perk of working at a hair salon Free hair!!
We cant wait to meet you!!!
